The surface of a Fiberglass Pool is for all intents and purposes non-porous. In comparison, the surface of a concrete pool is very rough and extremely porous. These rough holes, craters and pores give algae a place to adhere to. Once the algae is embedded in the concrete, the shocking, scrubbing, brushing and work begins, in fact, each and every week a concrete pool needs to be completely brushed to help keep the algae at bay. Lot’s of extra work you probably don’t need! Bottom line, a fiberglass pool will typically save you up to 75% of the time, effort and money compared to concrete or vinyl liner pools
In addition to all that extra work, your chlorine and pool chemical usage is much higher in concrete pools because of the need to penetrate the pool surface to kill algae. Concrete pools also require periodic doses of muriatic acid to lower the pH of the water. This is because concrete is alkaline based and constantly increases the pH of pool water. When your pool’s pH is out of whack and not properly balanced your sanitizer will not work up to its potential or maybe not at all. More chemical will be needed, more cost, more work, dirty and unsafe pool water, the list goes on and on. Fiberglass pools, are inert and do not affect your pool water chemistry whatsoever.ng a big sale, on-site celebrity, or other event? Be sure to announce it so everybody knows and gets excited about it.
Let’s take a quick look the pool’s surface. Fiberglass pools have no liner like vinyl pools so you’ll never worry about replacing it at a cost of $3,000-$5,000 every 5-10 years.
Concrete pools require resurfacing every 10-15 years. Average cost is over $10,000 each time.
Your fiberglass pool’s surface is permanent—no new liner, no resurface, no $5,000-$10,000 expenditure in a few short years!
DAYS VS. MONTHS!
Because the fiberglass pool shell is manufactured at a factory and delivered to your home in one piece, the installation of the pool can be as fast as one week! On the opposite end of the spectrum, concrete pools typically take up to six-months to complete. Days vs. months!

We've all been in a neighbor's concrete pool and when we get out out our feet are scraped up and hurting. Concrete pools surface is very rough and porous--you may have even ruined a new bathing suit by brushing up against this rough surface. In addition, the rough surface harbors algae growth--something you do not need!
A fiberglass pools surface is very smooth and easy on your feet and body. No snags on your bathing suit--no extra brushing and chemical costs from algae.

Salt systems are a wonderful easy to use, low maintenance, high water quality option for pool owners. In essence they convert ordinary salt into a powerful sanitizer that does not affect your pools pH, saves you money, gives you great water quality, and you’ll never have to purchase, store or add caustic chlorine to your pool. Unfortunately, salt systems do not work well with concrete or vinyl liner pools. The salt adversely reacts with concrete and can expedite the need to resurface the pool. Regarding vinyl liner pools, they are typically constructed with plain metal panels under the liner. We all know what happens to metal when it is exposed to salt and water. Again, fiberglass pools are impervious and non-porous. Salt systems do not affect the pool in anyway.
When fiberglass pools first came on the market many years ago, unfortunately they did have some restrictions and disadvantages in design and finish. Frankly some were pretty “Plain-Jane” and not very stylish. Because of huge advancements in the fiberglass pool industry we now have beautiful multi-color choice finishes, designer ceramic tile, built in tanning ledges, water features, integrated pool lights, even elevated spas! Aquatic Fiberglass Pools offer numerous different styles and sizes which allows us to carry a pool for every backyard and budget!
